Re Rupert
May i suggest that you and your associates make the most of your time on your site as is it will be short lived. The appeals process does not accommodate frivolous appeals.

Well Mr Farquhar, we are well familiar with the 'Berrylands' case which eventually judged that Mr Berry could have only 1 caravan on the privately owned land.
You want to be treated with equal rights? Then abide by the law because we couldn't buy a plot of agricultural land and start setting up home on it.
If it takes 8 years to shift you then so be it!
I for one will be watching and clapping the bayliffs and diggers as they evict you!

i think you should speak for your self and let every one else make there one mind up and it has never been known for travellers to apply for planing and have it granted the only way is through years of appeals when the counsel spent 1.4 million trying to get rid of another traveller in wrexham and lost in the end every body was saying why have they wasted so much money instead of leaving them alone

****Can I suggest we now LIMIT OUR COMMUNICATION with one another regarding the travellers site, it would appear they are logging onto Rossett online and posting ''their side'' on the 'community forum' please have a look****

Of course they have every right to do this, but it might be prudent for us to say less.

To the travellers...:

Our community will not be won round with your offers of a chat and a cup of tea but thank you anyway. Your actions, lack of respect for the rules and regulations that we all live by are speaking much louder than your words.

If the companies delivering hardcore had the travellers set up camp on land next to them do you think they would help their new neighbours? I think not!
These companies are making money without a care for our community.
The site is in no shape or form completed and life should be made as difficult for the travellers as possible.
If you or I bought a plot of land and started building without planning permission under the same circumstances the council would have served an injunction to stop the building or even sent in bayliffs to dismantle the site.
The travellers should be made to live in a half-built site. They made their bed so let them lie in it - unfinished!

May i suggest that it is probably not worth people contacting companies to stop delivering. The travellers move onto the next company and receive deliveries from companies as far away as corwen and the wirral. The damage has already been done as they are effectively now set up!

Wrexham Council have been very poor in preventing the site from being set up principaly as a result of not using some of their more aggressive powers such as applying for an injunction within the first few days of the site being developed. They did not use this power because there is a risk that if the injunction was successfully appealed in some circumstances the Counil could be required to compensate the travellers. The Council have taken the safest route which is the planning legislation. this is the most protracted route of all and it is by no means a certainty that planning will ultimately be refused.

A letter will be sent to the chief planning officer Mr Isted requesting an explanation as to why the 'invite the travellers to make a planning application' route was preferred to the other routes available.

1. I reported that Mr Higgs had been offered £30,000. That is correct, so what are you getting on your high-horse about?
If it is true Mr Higgs has refused to sell then FANTASTIC!
But, you can be sure that the travellers will be looking for more land...

2. WMBC wrote to every light-haulage company in the area asking them not to deliver hardcore to the site. They (WMBC) also warned such companies that the council would have nothing to do with them in the future if they ignored such a request.

Pressurising these companies does work!

I'm afraid that too many people in Rossett don't think the site affects them if they live in say Burton, the big houses in Darland etc

Out of sight and out of mind eh?

Re Purchase of further land £30000
Re Court Order preventing hardcore deliveries

May i respectfully suggest that people report facts of which they have first hand knowledge and not hearsay which is misleading and at times distressing.

There will be no sale of land by Mr Higgs. He was approached and refused to sell. Obviously a man of integrity.

The Council have no power to stop deliveries. Does the person who entered that information really think the local council applied to a judge for an order restraining further deliveries? What planet is this person on? the environment agency will consider prosecuting companies that have delivered and if pushed will telephone companies when given details to ask them to stop making further deliveries which is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Once again please report facts and not rumour

Make your feelings known!

Ring up M & A Kynaston (light haulage) Ltd and ask them politely not to deliver hardcore to the Holt Rd travelers' site.

Re travellers site.

First of all it must be said that people must move on from attributing blame to Bryn and Kelly. The land was up for sale with Wright Manley and sold on by another individual. Anyone who wants to discuss the facts with Mr Davies can freely talk to him in the Griffin Inn Trevalyn.

THERE ARE MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES WHICH NEED ATTENTION!!!.

I have it on very good authority that the travellers have approached Mr Higgs, who lives opposite the site, and offered him £30,000 cash for the land which he owns directly adjacent to the site. The travellers say they want the land "for horses"
Mr Higgs lives in the bungalow opposite the site and his house is recognisable by the large Radio Ham communications aerial in his garden. His land is approximately four times the size of the existing travellers' site.
We can all imagine the senario if the travellers are successful with this purchase.
Also, WMBC stopped Alvin 'Curly' Price from delivering hardcore to the site with a court order. Unfortunately a firm called Kynaston's are delivering hardcore by the lorry-load daily. The 7 tonne waggons are breaking regulations by crossing the weakened bridge on Holt Rd (3.5tonnes max)
I am obviously remaining anonymous because the travellers do have Internet access.

I hope Rossett Council takes note of the information regarding the travellers' possible aquisistion of Mr Higgs land. WMBC could buy the land instead?

We could have a very very big problem on our hands!

You might like to consider the way that the Councillors on the Planning Committee are voting. Even local politicians can feel th weight of public opinion.

Here is a link to a list of them:

http://www.wrexham.gov.uk/english/council/committees_new/planning.htm

Obviously this website is public so anyone can read it. It could be that you have a good idea that would help, which the developers should not see. I have myself spotted a couple of legal points which I have sent directly to Bob Shepherd. I suggest that you do the same.

Cheers Bryn Davies based in Gresford and Kenneth HIll based in Doddleston and of course also 'Curly' Platt based in Commonwood/Marford area for the mess Rossett is in.
These people should be named and shamed!

Webmaster: Most of them have now it seems. On with the Planning Objections letters now.
Thank you to the concerned resident providing guideliness on completion of the application. Very useful.

Copy and paste the following link into your browser

http://www.gypsy-traveller.org/planning/buying-land/

It gives the guidelines for travellers gaining planning permission. The site in Rossett does not comply with almost all the 9 points i.e The site is visible from all directions, visible from a local beauty spot (Cooks Bridge), does not have a safe entrance on a busy corner, land is liable to flooding etc
Then fill in the spaces in the sample letter of planning objection below with the following details:-

A QUICK GUIDE NOTE ON HOW TO WRITE A LETTER OF OBJECTION

You might wish to set out your letter like this

Mr. Matthew Davies
Planning Officer
Development Services Directorate
Wrexham County Borough Council
Lambpit Street
PO Box 1290
Wrexham

LL11 1WJ

date

Dear Mr. Davies

Project description here: Planning Reference P/2002/0538

Construction of 3 Wind Turbine Clusters at Cefn Coed, Glyn Ceiriog, Llangollen

I write to object to the proposed wind turbine development at Cefn Coed near Glyn Ceiriog, for the following reasons:

State your reasons here

Here are some key reasons which you could include in your letter....

1. significant visual impact in an area of outstanding landscape

2. probability of noise pollution

3. probability of electromagnetic interference (EMI)

4. significant traffic hazard in Selattyn during construction phase

5. significant impact upon wildlife habitat

6. lack of formal Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

However you wish to lay out your letter you should always include the date and the planning reference number and project description after the salutation (ie, dear Mr..)

You do NOT have to write a great long academic argument against the turbines. You could simply list the reasons above and/or include one paragraph like this...

?I object to the proposal due to the size, nature, and location of this project, with its significant effects in terms of visual intrusion and potential noise impacts. I believe my quality of life will be adversely affected.?

You may also wish to include a demand for a formal Environmental Impact Assessment. You could use this phrase....

Please invoke a formal EIA.

**ON ANOTHER NOTE**

IF YOU GOOGLE 'HOW TO MAKE AN EFFECTIIVE PLANNING OBJECTION'' OR WORDS TO THAT EFFECT, YOU WILL FIND SOME EXCELLENT DOCUMENTS THAT WILL HELP WITH YOUR OBJECTION LETTERS TO MAXIMISE IMPACT.

HOPE THIS HELPS...
