Rossett Lads circa 1960

"Just scanned a couple of old black & white negatives I've found so if you would like to add them to the gallery I am sure they will be of interest. I think they were taken c.1960, one on Rossett bridge (with the Alyn Hotel in the background) and the other I think was in the adjacent field (between the mill and the river). So far as names are concerned, the one on the bridge (left to right) Donald Griffiths, Barry Williams, possibly Brian Martin, Ken Johnson, ?. In the field we have (right to left) Alan Piggott, Ken Johnson, Harry Kettle, ?, ?, possibly Mike Kelly, possibly Brian Martin.
The one in the front, lying back, I think is Vaughan Smith. If anyone can confirm, correct or add names, that would be useful."

Happy days! I was one of this era of 'lads' when the bridge was the gathering/meeting place for the youths of the day.
I can confirm that Phil Hulley is on the extreme right of this bridge photo and certainly when I saw him last 18 months ago, still lived in or around Wrexham.
